Postojna Cave is a network of 20 kilometres of passages, galleries and chambers into which experienced guides have accompanied more than 35 million visitors in the last 188 years. It is the largest cave in the “classic karst” and the most vis¬ited show cave in Europe. In 1872 railway lines were laid in the cave; electricity arrived in 1884. Today you begin your visit aboard the cave train; the electric lighting allows you to admire the size and splendour of the underground world, where the geological past is recorded in a unique manner. Visitors to the cave are dazzled by a wealth of speleothems: calcite formations, stalactites and stalagmites abounding in a variety of shapes, colours and age. The constant temperatureinthe caves ranges from 8 to 10°C

Perched high up in the cliff, this castle dates back to the 16th century, but evidence indicates that this steep and imposing cliff has been fortified since at least the 13th century.

Križna cave is known as an open cave with controlled access and as a tourism cave. It is one of the few tourist caves in Slovenia, which don’t contain concrete pathways and strong lighting, which is harmful to the environment. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful and best preserved caves in Europe / the world.
The cave features a chain of underground lakes with emerald green water. Initial parts of the cave feature large cave halls. After a few hundred meters into the cave there is no natural lighting, so visitors explore with the help of given flashlights. The main tunnel continues it’s way through Great hall towards a speleothem Čimboras where visitors can see an interesting display of cave bear remains which attract people with not only their size, but also the number. The tour continues through a tunnel, which drains the water from the first lake. That is followed by a 10-minute boat ride through the first lake.

The Škocjan Inlet Nature Reserve is as an oasis of peace at the threshold of Koper, alluring for anyone who wants to learn about nature and experience it. The unique variety of species, mainly birds, the small surface area and special infrastructure for the observation of nature make every visit special. The Škocjan Inlet belongs to the most important nesting places of herons, water rails, great reed warblers, Eurasian reed warblers, common terns and black-winged stilts in Slovenia.

OPTION 3 SOČA RAFTING

11:00 arrival in Soča valley and start with rafting tour
After meeting your escort and given the appropriate equipment, you will drive to the starting point where the safety rules and basic paddling techniques are explained by the certified escort. Then you will go to enjoy the ride with head down the river, which takes about 2 hours. The rafting tour will be easier and adapted to children.
13:00 At the exit point you will have 1 hour of free time for changing clothes and relaxing near the powerful river
